Jaipur to Pushkar day trip: distance, time and what to see
A 145 km drive to the holy lake town. Timings, temples and the best things to eat.
Pushkar is about 2.5 hours from Jaipur by road. It is a relaxed, vegetarian town built around a sacred lake and the only major Brahma temple in India.
Suggested plan
Leave Jaipur by 7 am, stop at Ajmer Sharif Dargah first, reach Pushkar by noon and walk the ghats. Sunset from Savitri Temple is worth the short climb.
What to eat
Malpua at a lakeside sweet shop, falafel at the cafes near Main Bazaar and fresh lassi.
Good to know
Dress modestly, and keep shoes in the cab if you plan to visit several temples.
