Best time to visit Jaipur: month by month guide
Plan your Pink City trip around the weather, festivals and crowds. Here is what each season really feels like.
Jaipur is open all year, but the experience changes a lot with the season. October to March is the sweet spot: days are around 20 to 28 degrees, evenings are cool and forts are comfortable to climb.
October to February: peak season
Clear skies, light jackets in the evening and the best light for photos at Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort. Book hotels and cabs early, especially around Diwali and New Year.
March to June: hot but quiet
Temperatures cross 40 degrees by May. Start sightseeing at 7 am, break at noon and head out again after 4 pm. Hotel rates drop and monuments are less crowded.
July to September: monsoon green
Short, heavy showers turn the Aravalli hills green and Jal Mahal looks its best. Carry a light raincoat; roads to Amber and Nahargarh stay open.
Our tip
Visit in February for the Jaipur Literature Festival, or in November for the Pushkar Camel Fair day trip.
