About Hawa Mahal

Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, Hawa Mahal let the royal women watch street life without being seen. Its honeycomb of small windows keeps the rooms cool. Inside, ramps lead up five storeys with views of Jantar Mantar and City Palace.

  • For the classic photo, go to the rooftop cafes across the road.
  • The entrance is at the back, from the Tripolia Bazaar side.
