Golden Triangle tour: 4 day plan, season and tips
What to see in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, how far each drive is and how to avoid common mistakes.
The Golden Triangle is the classic first trip to India. Delhi, Agra and Jaipur form a triangle with about 240 to 280 km between each city, easily covered by road.
How many days do you need?
Four days is comfortable, five if you want a slower Delhi. Three days works only if you skip Fatehpur Sikri.
Plan around the Taj Mahal
The Taj is closed on Fridays and busiest at 9 am. Sunrise entry is quieter and the marble changes colour as the light rises.
Cab or train?
A private cab lets you stop at Fatehpur Sikri and Abhaneri on the way, which trains skip. For a family or a group of 4 to 6, the cab is also better value.
